While our business grew, our need to have a dedicated team to support ongoing maintenance on our client’s sites also expanded. Maintenance work brought in $1M annually and therefore, texture decided to create a dedicated team of designers and developers and enlisted me to create this team, manage the department and create the systems for workflows (using Jira).

My position consisted of formatting articles stories into HTML and uploaded onto homepages using Photoshop and our content management system. I managed the delivery and content of promotional microsites for the Suzuki Half Pipe campaign, Warren Miller film tour, Warren Miller Experience and more. I also was a field reporter and photographer for special events and staged videos for additional content on the sites.

At Acme, I was responsible for general operations from writing press releases on comedic acts to booking company parties. I would find a unique way to market each comic, create quarterly press kits, update the corporate website with the upcoming acts and host media events to present the restaurant as well as the comedy show. During the holiday season we had many corporate events which would require planning and executing of the main course, appetizers, drinks, desserts and comedy show, often with several events going on simultaneously.

I began at the Minnesota Daily as the manager of the classified ad department and I quickly moved into print ad sales. I had a wide variety of clients from National to local and had daily ad sales goals, which was 25% of the departments’ daily goal. Print ad sales consisted of selling ad space, scheduling the ads, receiving the creative and proofing the placement daily for quality assurance.
